Closing arguments begin in Hall trial
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The trial of the man accused of murdering another man at the Maverick bar is finally coming to an end.
Defense and prosecutors began presenting their closing arguments on Thursday morning for the trial of Jerome Hall.
The trial began at the end of May, but after just over one week, jurors will determine if Jerome will be found guilty of Tyrone Hall's death in February 2021.
Prosecutors presented their closing arguments on why jurors should find Jerome guilty of Tyrone's death.
The state presented first, followed by defense began, presenting their closing arguments shortly before jurors needed to take a lunch recess.
Deputy county attorney Joshua Davis-Salsbury said the defendant was calculated in his plan to commit this murder while defense attorney Jose Padilla said his client was only protecting himself.
The jury began deliberating Thursday and once the jury comes to a decision, the court will reconvene to hear if they deem Jerome to be found guilty or not guilty.
