Homicide investigation underway after woman’s body found in Yuma
YUMA, Ariz. (3TV/CBS 5) — A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in Yuma. Around 11:45 a.m. Monday, sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a rural area near Avenue 1E and County 18th Street where a woman’s body was found. She’s since been identified as 35-year-old Georgina Montoya from Somerton, a small city southwest of Yuma.

Yuma Fire Department Responds to 328 Emergency Calls in One Week, Including Fires, Crashes, and Medical Emergencies
The Yuma Fire Department in Arizona responded to 328 emergency calls for service from May 21 to May 27, 2023. There were 14 fire responses, including a kitchen fire and a back patio fire, and four mutual aid responses to assist neighboring agencies.
YPD responds to aggrivated assault and attempted homicide
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Police Department (YPD) is investigating two incidents that occurred on the same day: Saturday, May 27. According to a press release, the first incident YPD responded to was an attempted homicide. This occurred at approximately 12:49pm, in the area of West 5th Place and South 19th Avenue. Officers found a 49-year-old man with stab wounds. Because of his injuries, the man was transported to the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YPD).
Teens in Yuma have been arrested for multiple felony offenses
YUMA -- Three teens and one 18-year-old in Yuma have been arrested for tagging graffiti on a wall and shooting at a person. The incident happened around 7 at night. Police say resident's heard gun shots, and one person confirmed that when they went to speak to the taggers they went to shoot towards them.
DUI checkpoints in Yuma for Memorial Day weekend
YUMA -- The City of Yuma Police Department will be conducting an impaired driving detail on Friday, May 26th, Saturday, May 27th, Sunday, May 28th, and Monday, May 29th 2023. Additional officers will be used to rove city streets looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs. These DUI patrols, in addition to regularly scheduled patrol officers, are all looking for the signs of an impaired driver behind the wheel.

YUMA -- YCSO have been informing the community about a man who died in Yuma. The incident arrived around 2:00pm at a home in Yuma, and found the man with apparent lacerations and unresponsive.
