Tower District restaurant hosts Beetlejuice night in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – CDT Cocina, previously known as Casa De Tamales, hosted a one-of-a-kind dining experience on Wednesday to celebrate the release of the long-awaited Beetlejuice sequel.

Super fan and restaurant owner Liz Sanchez says she loved the first film and wanted to treat her customers to an exclusive dinner and cooking workshop while celebrating one of her favorite movies.

“It’s one of my personal favorite movies,” Sanchez said. “This dinner party and cooking experience is just one way to continue to connect with the community, with my loyal people, and just saying thanks very much for coming in and being such a loyal customer, and here’s let’s try something new.”

Dinner guests appeared in costume and were treated to appetizers and drinks that referenced the film – like shrimp cocktails and green and red cocktails.

Guests then went from drinking at the table to serving up drinks at the bar as Sanchez coached couples through the perfect Beetlejuice-themed cocktail.

After a few drinks, Sanchez took guests into the kitchen to cook their choice of steak, chicken, or impossible beef to make their own entrées and tamales.

Sanchez says the response to announcing the special dinner was unanimous excitement.

“The movie is, I think, near and dear to a lot of people,” Sanchez said. “I love Beetlejuice and I’ve been talking about it for the past month and I got a lot of feedback from guests.”

Sanchez says the dinner and cooking workshop is the first of more events to come through the middle of October until Halloween.

“You’ve got to be on the lookout for the tickets to go on sale so you can reserve and enjoy one of these dinner parties with us,” Sanchez said.
