    Juvenile dead after shooting in Merced, police say

    MERCED, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A juvenile was shot and killed in Merced early Monday morning, according to the Merced Police Department.

    Police say around 5:50 a.m. officers received a call regarding an unresponsive male in the 1800 block of West North Bear Creek Drive.

    Officers say they found a juvenile victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim died at the scene. Police say neighbors in the area reported hearing gunshots around 2 a.m.

    Police say they have not identified a suspect.

    The Merced Police Department is asking anyone with any information regarding this incident to contact Detective Edwin Arias at (209) 388-7826.

    i wonder why a juvenile was out at 2 am since the report says that neighbors heard shots at around 2 in the morning. sad that the body wasn't located till almost 6 am. that's wild. why wouldn't a parent be calling looking for their child at that time of night. I hope they catch whoever did this.
