Man arrested, accused of domestic violence in Fresno, police say

FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence disturbance in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said.

Officers say they responded to a home in Fresno for a reported domestic disturbance. As officers contacted the involved man, he ran from them and jumped into the canal in an attempt to escape.

Police say the suspect quickly became exhausted and was directed to the side of the canal by officers. Officers formed a chain by locking their forearms and pulled him to safety. He was medically cleared before being arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence.
