YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A man who was arrested during a search of a south side home was sentenced last week in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

Terrence Tillis, 48, pleaded guilty July 25 to having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dropped.

Tillis was immediately sentenced to two years and six months in prison with credit for 60 days already served. The court also seized a 9mm firearm.

Tillis was arrested after police served a search warrant in May , investigating drug activity at a 383 W. Delason Ave. home.

Inside the house, police found a 9mm semiautomatic handgun, a bag of crack cocaine and a digital scale, reports said.

Reports said a criminal history check found that Tillis has a previous felony conviction that bars him from having a gun. Records in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court show Tillis has criminal convictions stretching back to 1994.
