Two men shot, one fatally, in Yonkers Wednesday night

YONKERS — Two men were shot Wednesday night in Yonkers, and one of them later died from his injuries.

Yonkers police said the shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. in the area of 55 Morris Street.

According to police, the two men were sitting in a black sedan when they were shot through the driver's side window.

The first victim, a 19-year-old man who lived in Yonkers, was struck at least twice, including once in the chest.

First responders gave him CPR before he was brought to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The second victim was an 18-year-old male resident of Yonkers who was struck at least once in the leg. He was brought to a local trauma center, where he is listed in stable condition and is expected to recover, police said.

No other details about the shooting, including a possible motive, were immediately available from police.

Detectives are working to identify and apprehend the shooter or shooters.
