YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. — There have been three deadly crashes in Yazoo County over the past week. The coroner said the first death happened last Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. on Interstate 55 just north of Vaughan. Shawanda Jenkins, 45, of Slidell, Louisiana, died after her car ran off the road and hit several trees.

The Yazoo County Fair is just around the corner, set to take place from Oct. 13 to Oct. 21. The venue for the fair is 120 Hugh J. McGraw in Yazoo City.

Recent incidents in Yazoo County resulted in three individuals losing their lives in separate accidents, said County Coroner Ricky Shivers. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is conducting detailed investigations into each accident.

The shooting occurred after 11:00 p.m. on September 15. Tchula Police are searching for two suspects who used an AK-47 and AR-15 and fired over 50 rounds. The suspects' abandoned car was found on Howard Bottom Road, and they are believed to be responsible for recent robberies as well.
