The coroner said the first death happened last Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. on Interstate 55 just north of Vaughan. Shawanda Jenkins, 45, of Slidell, Louisiana, died after her car ran off the road and hit several trees.

The shooting occurred after 11:00 p.m. on September 15. Five of the victims were taken to a hospital in Lexington, two of whom were in critical condition and had to be airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Tchula Police are searching for two suspects who used an AK-47 and AR-15 and fired over 50 rounds. The suspects' abandoned car was found on Howard Bottom Road, and they are believed to be responsible for recent robberies as well.
MHP trooper rescued after fiery crash in Wilkinson County
