BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — Newman Tractor is partnering with A Special Wish Ohio Valley Chapter to host this year’s “A Day to Play” event at the Belmont County Fairgrounds from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Organizers say the event is designed to bring together the community for an exciting hands-on experience with heavy equipment.

It’s an opportunity for kids, teens, and adults to see and operate full-size construction machinery, get a taste of what professional operators do every day, and support a great cause.

With a variety of heavy equipment and EMS vehicles on display, organizers say attendees will get to see what it’s like to operate these machines in the real world.

Dig in the dirt, challenge your operator precision skills with games, or see the lights and siren

Organizers say the morning is set aside for the first two hours, during which the wish recipients will have VIP time to engage with heavy equipment before the event opens to the public.

The afternoon is about the community, where everyone is invited to join the fun, including music and food trucks

Organizers say kids and teens can jump into the driver’s seat and operate various heavy machines with supervision from experienced operators in a fun, safe environment.

According to organizers, this event provides a thrilling experience highlighting the hard work and skill involved in blue-collar trades.

It is a great way to appreciate the craftsmanship behind construction and discover local organizations that support our community.
