MIFFLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Mifflin County School District student is facing charges after a threat was discovered, according to the superintendent.
Superintendent Vance Varner says the threat was made at the Mifflin County Junior High School. Mifflin County Regional Police and school administration began investigating after the threat was discovered.
PSP: One juvenile charged after bomb threat at Indiana County school It was discovered that a student wrote about a threat of school violence on a wall inside the boy’s restroom on Tuesday, according to Varner.
The student was interviewed, confessed to making the threat, and will be charged, according to Varner.
“The district and school administration would like to extend their appreciation to the
Mifflin County Regional Police Department for their support and help with this
investigation,” Varner said in a statement.
The Southern Huntingdon County School District also made a public announcement as the threat seemed to have caused concern for parents and students in our area.
We have received calls and concerns from parents and students that they are hearing about a school shooting threat on September 23rd. The information we have received links the source to a threat that occurred in Mifflin County today. We have confirmation that the source of the Mifflin County threat has confessed to the act and is in police custody. No threats have been made toward the Southern Huntingdon County School District.

There was an increase in police presence at the school for the day.
