SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Two teenagers were arrested and charged five days after an 18-year-old was shot at a Spartanburg apartment complex.

The Spartanburg Police Department said two 16-year-old suspects, who will not be identified due to their age, were taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice Detention Center in Columbia. Both have been charged with attempted murder, attempted robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

On September 5 , officers responded to Robert Smalls Apartments on 561 Wofford Street to find the victim lying on the ground and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim remains in the hospital and is expected to survive.
