GSP investigates fatal crash in Candler County

CANDLER COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers responded to an automobile crash that killed two on State Route 46 Wednesday.

GSP has announced preliminary details about the events. On September 11 at around 4:20 p.m., a Chevrolet Impala was traveling east in the eastbound lane of SR 46. A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west in the eastbound lane of SR 46. The Silverado struck the front of Impala with the front of the vehicle. The exact reason for the crash is unknown.

The driver and passenger of the Impala suffered fatal injuries, while the driver of the Silverado was transported to a nearby medical facility for suspected serious injuries.

The GSP’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is continuing its thorough investigation of this crash.
