JESUP, Ga. (WSAV) – Demetrice Bush, mother of Noah Bush, is reaching out to Georgia lawmakers to draft and pass a new law aimed at penalties for juvenile delinquents nearly four months after her 8-year old son was found dead in a borrow pit.

Dubbed “Noah’s Law,” it would mean stricter penalties for juveniles under the age of 13 who are convicted of killing someone. She decries what she calls a “slap on the wrist” that the two juveniles, one 10 and 11-year-old, received upon being charged in connection to Noah’s death.

In August, the 11-year-old pleaded guilty to charges of Simple Battery, Involuntary Manslaughter, Concealing the Death of Another and Criminal Trespassing and received a two-year confinement, the maximum penalty under the law.

Prosecutors said the 11-year-old child pushed Noah into the deep portion of the pit they were wading in.

The 10-year-old is facing charges of Concealing the Death of Another and Criminal Trespassing.

Local activist Jodi Martin is working with the Bush family to help pass the law.

this story still upsets me to my core that this mother is without her son and the ones that did it in my opinion weren't punished at all.
