    TSA officials stop Goochland man from bringing loaded handgun onto RIC flight

    HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A loaded handgun was found in a Goochland County man’s luggage at Richmond International Airport (RIC) in Henrico County by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials on Thursday.

    According to TSA, the 9mm handgun, which was loaded with 12 bullets, was found in the man’s carry-on bag on Thursday, Aug. 8. Richmond Airport Police officers confiscated the gun and cited the man on a weapons charge.

    This is the 21st gun that has been found by security agents at RIC so far in 2024, which is more than were found during four of the last six years, according to TSA.
