COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — This morning we are seeing overcast skies and scattered showers moving through as the outer rain bands from Francine continue.

WEATHER AWARE: Today through Friday afternoon due to strong winds, heavy rainfall, and the possibility of isolated tornadoes. Wind Advisories are already in place for Macon and Bullock counties. A Flood Watch is posted for the entire viewing area through Friday evening.

With strong gusty winds up to 30-35 mph these conditions over time will topple trees and snap branches off quite easily. A tornado threat is marginal, but the bottom line is the set-up will pose the risk for spin-up tornadoes. There will be several outer bands throughout the day, making this quite hazardous.

Francine’s energy stalls out across the southeast keeping showers and storms in the forecast through Friday afternoon and evening. A marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe storms is posted as the remnant’s energy lifts along the frontal axis across Alabama.

Weekend has transitioned more cloudier and wet as the energy from Francine hangs up across the southeast. Francine lingers with a few storms by Sunday and next week.
