The Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove was found to have chemicals in their water that have been found to have harmful effects. In 2011, the U.S. Department of Defense and the Environmental Protection Agency confirmed toxic chemicals were in the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Willow Grove’s groundwater and eventually in the drinking water supply for the base and surrounding neighborhoods.
Crews respond to pair of vehicle crashes with rescue near Whitehall Road on Tuesday
Two people were rescued on Tuesday following a pair of unrelated crashes near Whitehall Road in Worcester Township. The first crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Bean and Whitehall roads and involved two vehicles — a black Mercedes coupe and a tan Nissan Altima. Both vehicles sustained front-end damage, with the Nissan coming to rest on the side of Whitehall Road and the Mercedes striking the corner of a porch along the 2500 block of Bean Road.

Raccoon kits rescued from truck bed in Hilltown
A volunteer from Wildlife in Need (WIN) PA rescued four orphaned raccoon kits from the back of a pickup truck in Hilltown yesterday.
