Wortham VFD Battle for the Buckles BBQ Cook-Off is This Saturday

The Wortham VFD Battle for the Buckles is coming up this Saturday, June 3rd in Wortham, Texas.

Come out to the Wortham Oil City Park and join the BBQ Cook-Off battle for some new hardware and support for the local fire department.

Buckles awarded for to Grand & Reserve Champions. Trophies to Reserve, 1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd Places.

Entry fee is $200 per team and include one entry into the following categories:

–Brisket

–Pork Ribs

–Chicken

–Cook’s Choice

Jackpots include Beans ($25) and Dessert ($25).

Entry fees due at Cook’s meeting on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

All cooking will be done on-site.

Turn in times are as follows on Saturday:

–11:00 a.m. – Brisket

–12:00 p.m. – Dessert

–1:00 p.m. – Cook’s Choice

–2:00 p.m. – Chicken

–3:00 p.m. – Ribs

–4:00 p.m. – Brisket

Awards will be held at 6:00 p.m.

Cornhole begins at 10:00 a.m., Horseshoes at 12:00 noon. Washers to follow.
