WORCESTER — The Wednesday afternoon game between the Worcester Red Sox and the Buffalo Bisons has been postponed until Friday.

"WooSox Fans, due to persistent rain today and in the forecast this afternoon and evening, our 3:05 p.m. game today will be postponed," the team wrote in a post on social media.

The teams will play in a single-admission doubleheader Friday, starting at 3:35 p.m. with each game running for seven innings. UniBank Fireworks will follow after the nightcap. Fans can call the Polar Park ticket office at (508) 500-8888 with any ticket-related issues.

Fans holding tickets for Wednesday can trade those in for any remaining WooSox home game this season — based on availability.

A planned tumbler giveaway set for Wednesdays game will also now be pushed to Friday.

"Enjoy free hot chocolate Friday and every game to which you bring your tumbler in April and May," the team said. "What's more, five lucky fans who find a "golden ticket" in their tumbler will be escorted to a Polar Park SUITE for Friday's game!"

The Woo Sox also postponed the planned Throwback Thursday, featuring former Boston Red Sox reliever Bob Stanley, to another date, yet to be announced.
