Multiple local athletes advance to Sectionals, one game away from WIAA State Tournament
RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) - A spot in the Division one Sectionals round in Eau Claire was on the line Monday afternoon as several schools made the trip up to the Hodag Dome to compete in the 2024 WIAA Boys tennis subsectionals. Several area schools competed in four singles heats and three doubles heats. One of those schools was Marshfield who saw plenty of success throughout the day. The Tigers top doubles team of Kai Rens and Will Jepson soared in their subsectional matchup winning it two sets to nothing. They said moving on to Sectionals was a bittersweet feeling.

2024 Hodag Heritage Festival in Pioneer Park

MERRILL, Wis. (WJFW) - The opening round of the WIAA Division two softball tournament started Friday evening and two future conference opponents faced off as Rhinelander squared off against Merrill. RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) – A group of professional jazz musicians is at Holiday Acres in Rhinelander for the weekend to teach jazz to students of all ages and backgrounds. The Northwoods Jazz Camp features esteemed jazz musicians from all over the country. It offers lessons and collaborations between professionals and people who might play music in their free time, or who used to be passionate jazz players and want to get back into it. The day started with a short listening session where Kim Richmond, his co-director and singer Kimberly Ford along with the rest of their band, played a few modern jazz pieces followed by discussions with the students.
Hazelhurst bar wins best burger contest
