From Woodlake to Exeter to parts of east Visalia, people are spotting unusual cloud formations in the sky.

"These clouds are nothing to be concerned about," said the National Weather Service Hanford.

Those unusual cloud formations are not funnel clouds, but scud clouds. Scud clouds are often mistaken for funnel clouds because of their similar shape and appearance.

According to the NWS Hanford, a scud cloud is similar to a funnel cloud, the only difference is it's not rotating. Furthermore, scud clouds are not attached to another cloud.

Instead, scud clouds are considered cloud fragments created from moist air.
