
A driver and a motorcyclist were both killed in separate crashes in Minnesota Friday.
The first crash occurred just before 5 p.m. on Interstate 94 in Lakeland, Washington County. According to the State Patrol, 25-year-old Jacob A. Boldenow, of Woodbury, was riding a motorcycle westbound on I-94 when he attempted to change lanes at St. Croix Trail.
Boldenow lost control of the motorcycle and went down the embankment, crashing into a sign and then onto St Croix Trail. Boldenow was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second fatal crash the State Patrol responded to happened around 9 p.m. in Kittson County.
The crash report says a man behind the wheel of a Chevy Impala was traveling north on Highway 59 near mile marker 401 in Norway Township when the he went off the highway and rolled the car.
The driver, identified as 53-year-old Timothy A. Undeberg,of Halma, was killed in the crash. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the State Patrol says.
There have been at least 276 deaths on Minnesota roads this year. The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety had tracked 315 at this same point in 2022.
