Police say no weapons were involved in a Saturday evening fight at Potomac Mills mall in Woodbridge.
The fight broke out before 6:30 p.m. and involved juveniles. It was originally reported to police as a fight with weapons, the department said on Twitter.
Officers arrived and quickly determined no shots were fired, then later that no weapons were involved.
"There was no active threat to the area," police said. "The investigation continues."

Like the young man in southern Virginia where an eyewitness neighbor was described as saying that the Sheriff's deputies did not respond to the scene in a way that would have provided professional mental health services to the troubled individual who later ended up dying in custody. (Youngkin needs to get on this one ASAP, wasn't he just spoutijg off about mental health services in the Commonwealth?). This was an all hands on deck criminal justice failure, the response from the deputies, the three security guards at the so called mental health facility, and the judge denying the mother's request for her son to be medicated in real time by the family's doctor, which ultimately led to his his brutal murder. Think about that, an innocent man having a mental health crisis denied access to medical treatment only to be slaughtered in state custody instead.
And then finally the horrific auto crash that left three innocent people dead, a Lyft driver working and two young men doing the responsible thing and calling for a Lyft driver in the earlier hours of the morning, hit by a deadly driver, after being just pulled over by U.S
Park Police and following protocol to.not pursue after the driver fled off. This all taking place during the 1 o'clock hour on the morning. What a ridiculous protocol, thanks for keeping our streets safe by pulling people over and then letting them drive away, they obviously aren't a threat! This is why we have police officers in the first place, and laws to enforce. But no, the district will rely on their speed camera program where this driving couple racked up $12,000 of unpaid traffic violations. Some system in place. The people abiding by the law and being responsible were let down and killed by a ridiculous protocol. Not the officer, all the blame can't be put on the officer in this instance.
But yeah, luckily none of these juveniles at the mall were shot, since you know they had weapons, which they didn't. Just a heavy police response and apprehension which probably sent the message. Well, maybe not enough to send the message nowadays. Usually parents are called when juveniles are involved, do they still do that anymore? Or is that against protocol?
