Owners: Vandals throw piece of wood through Avenel deli window
The owners of a deli in the Avenel section of Woodbridge say the business was vandalized overnight.
Nora’s Deli has been operating for more than 25 years. Owner Nora Ozturk tells News 12 New Jersey that she has never had a problem like this before.
A chunk of wood was thrown through the front window sometime between 8 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday.
“I tried to open the door. All of a sudden, I saw all of the glass in front of the store…then I open the door – I walk in and saw the stick here against the dessert refrigerator,” Ozturk says. “I work 20 hours a day. I didn’t deserve this. I work so hard.”
Ozturk says that the police were called immediately. She says they plan to check nearby security cameras to see who might have done this.
