WOLCOTT, Conn. (WTNH) — A two-car crash around 5:15 p.m. on Friday resulted in the death of one dog and two serious injuries.

The crash happened at the intersection of Wolcott Road and Mad River Road. Involved in the collision was a silver car, occupied by two adults, which had pulled out of Mad River Road, and a truck with five occupants, including three youths, traveling north on Wolcott Road.

Despite the severity of the impact, the occupants of the truck didn’t sustain serious injuries and are expected to be discharged from the hospital.

However, the two individuals inside the silver car sustained serious injuries, with emergency responders having to remove the roof and door to extricate them.

Unfortunately, one of the two dogs traveling in the silver car did die from its injuries sustained in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the cause.
