“Our final times right here,” Louis Vargas said.

“We will always cherish them,” John Vargas said.

Louis and John Vargas look through photos at Disney World. It was their last family trip with their younger brother, Yasser.

“He had a lot of friends actually too much. They couldn’t fit in the house! He was very popular, even his teachers, his coach and bus driver came to the home. Thats how much he touched the world,” John said.

Number of teen homicide victims in Nashville continues to rise

It was September 8 when Paz and a friend were standing outside a nightclub in South Nashville. Metro police said multiple men got out of a car and started shooting at them. Both of them were rushed to Vanderbilt. Paz didn’t survive.

“It was a shock, it was a blur, there was a ringing in my ear,” John said.

John said crime is getting out of control in Nashville. They live just around the corner from Bart Drive where three people were found dead in a home over the weekend .

“We heard the screams of a woman, my whole family did, and my mom ever since has been shaken up…We need more attention to gun violence going on in the city, we are just sick of it really,” John said.

Louis said one way to honor their brother is work to end gun violence in Nashville. “We must better ourselves for him.”

“He wouldn’t want us to be sad he would want us to move forward with our lives and something good come out of this,” John said.

Homicide detectives are continuing to work strong leads in this case. If you have any information please call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME .
