MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Five members of a federal drug conspiracy were sentenced to prison time in federal court, according to the United States Department of Justice.

Those members were identified as 37-year-old Eric Maurice Moseley of Grand Bay, 35-year-old Hardy Devan Forrest of Grand Bay, 36-year-old Markell Durrell Moore of Mobile, 25-year-old Zyshonne Osilk Smith of Grand Bay and 30-year-old Bryan Dion Campbell of Mobile.

According to the USDOJ, they all appeared in front of United States District Court Judge Kristi K. Dubose in separate sentencing hearings after an investigation into a drug distribution conspiracy allegedly led by Otis Sanders Jr.

The above defendants were found to be distributors for Sanders after investigators made controlled buys from Smith, Campbell and Forest, and seized drugs and guns from both Moseley and Moore, according to court documents. Further evidence also connected Smith and Campbell to a shooting that took place on Ramsay Road, the USDOJ release said.

The five defendants now face the following sentences, a 5-year term of supervised release, and conditions including drug and alcohol treatment and searches, according to the release:

    • Moseley: 75 months in prison and $200 in special mandatory assessments
    • Forest: 150 months in prison, an additional five years on a gun charge, and $400 in special mandatory assessments
    • Moore: 120 months in prison and a $200 special mandatory assessment
    • Smith: 90 months in prison and a $200 special mandatory assessment
    • Campbell: 105 months in prison with $200 in special mandatory assessments

Officials said justice was possible thanks to the multi-agency investigation that was part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force operation.
