Satsuma, Ala. (WKRG) — A Satsuma High School drum corps and cheerleaders escorted our Golden Apple team into science teacher Gaines Stubblefield’s classroom.

Gaines Stubblefield has been teaching for 26 years and says he loves it.

“I like it. I like them–I like my co-workers, especially when things are good, things are really good,” he said.

And we found out he must also be somewhat inspiring. Stubblefield was nominated for the Golden Apple by a former student. Stephanie Rayburn is now also a teacher.

She said, “He’s an amazing person, an amazing co-worker, and he’s an amazing teacher.  He’s influenced my life but there’s other people he’s influenced too.”

Our congratulations to Gaines Stubblefield and Satsuma High School for a job well done.
