The governor of Wisconsin is getting ready to return some of the remaining funds from the state’s coronavirus stimulus program.
As part of the new federal debt ceiling agreement, Governor Tony Evers told reporters Tuesday that his office is preparing for the claw-back.
The governor is keeping mum about where the money will come from and how much the state will have to return to Washington.
Wisconsin has just under $450 million in unallocated stimulus funds as of the most recent count in March.
The governor claims that his departments are investigating what will happen to that money.
