Eyewitness recounts Yuma police shooting that left man hospitalized
YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — While an officer-involved shooting in Yuma last week remains under investigation, a neighbor who witnessed it unfold says police used excessive force. In a pre-recorded video posted on Facebook last week, Yuma Police Chief Thomas Garrity said officers responded to calls about a man “being disorderly” and threatening to kill people and their dog shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday. When officers arrived in the neighborhood near 10th Street and Magnolia Avenue, the chief said the threats continued.
