A FULL RECOVERY. COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND BUSINESS OWNERS ARE SHARING THEIR CONCERNS AFTER REPORTS OF CARS DOING BURNOUTS IN PARKING LOTS ON ROBIN HOOD ROAD THIS PAST WEEKEND AS WXII 12. S MARIA DEBONE REPORTS THERE ARE A LOT OF MARKINGS ON THE PAVEMENT NOW LEFT OVER FROM THIS HERE AT THE YMCA ON ROBIN HOOD ROAD. THE PARKING LOT IS FILLED WITH THESE TREAD MARKS, THE ACE HARDWARE NEXT DOOR ALSO LOOKS THE EXACT SAME. NOW, WORKERS SAID THAT THEY WEREN’T HERE ON SATURDAY, AND WHEN THEY CAME IN SUNDAY, ALL THESE MARKINGS WERE HERE. A YMCA GOER SAID A FAMILY MEMBER SENT HER THIS VIDEO, ACCORDING TO SECURITY CAMERAS FROM BUSINESSES, DOZENS OF CARS WERE DOING BURNOUTS LATE SATURDAY NIGHT, EARLY SUNDAY. I THINK PERFORMANCE DRIVING BELONGS ON A PERFORMANCE TRACK, NOT AT OUR FAMILY. YMCA. I’VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE OR HEARD ABOUT THIS. AND THIS IS THE FIRST THIS HAS HAPPENED HERE AT THE YMCA. ALTHOUGH THE YMCA AND SURROUNDING BUSINESSES WERE CLOSED AT THIS TIME, A YMCA REP EXECUTIVE JOE PEELE, SAID IT’S A SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS A MESSAGE FOR THOSE LOOKING TO DO THIS. THEY’RE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR TIME THAN COME TO AN OPEN PARKING LOT AND DO DONUTS IN IT FOR A LOT OF REASONS. FOR THE MAIN REASON BEING IT’S JUST FROM A SAFETY PERSPECTIVE. THE YMCA REPRESENTATIVES SAID THEY’RE NOW FIGURING OUT HOW TO FIX THIS VISUALLY AND GET RID OF THE MARKS THEY ALSO SAID THEY TURNED OVER THEIR SECURITY FOOTAGE TO POLICE TO LOOK INTO AND WINSTON-SALEM MARIA DEBONE WXII 12 NEWS. The YMCA and Ace Hardware parking lots on Robinhood Road are filled with tread markings.According to security cameras from businesses, dozens of cars were doing burnouts late Saturday night, early Sunday. Vice President of Operations for YMCA Northwest location Joe Peele said, “I’ve never seen this before or heard about this and this was the first this has happened here at the YMCA.”
