Fairfield Co. Coroner ID’s deceased in I-77 motor-vehicle accident

FAIRFIELD CO., S.C. (WOLO)—Fairfield County Coroner Chris Hill released the name of a person who was involved in a fatal accident on I-77 and Hwy 200 in Winnsboro.

John Thompson, 80, was the driver of a vehicle involved in two car motor vehicle accidents on May 31 in the afternoon.

Thompson was pronounced dead on scene from blunt force injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
