Beaumont resident arrested for DWI after crashing into BPD patrol vehicles
BEAUMONT, Texas — On Friday night, a Beaumont resident was arrested for driving while intoxicated after crashing into two police patrol vehicles. At 10:12 p.m. on June 7, 2024, two Beaumont Police Department (BPD) patrol units were parked with their directional lights activated in the 2200 block of Ave C. These lights, which are yellow flashing indicators on the rear of the emergency light bar, were on as the officers were responding to a call at a nearby residence. A southbound vehicle collided with the rear of the first police unit, pushing it into the second unit.
