After strong and even severe thunderstorms moved through parts of CT this evening, the storm threat is now over. As we’ve been forecasting, there will be 2 distinct rounds of rain as we close out the workweek. Initially in the morning, with a warm front. Then, toward/after sunset with a cold front. It’s during the 2nd round that we’ve been expecting the chance for thunderstorms to be in the mix. There is now the possibility that storms that develop could be strong to severe, this is why tomorrow is a *First Alert Weather Day.* In addition to lightning, damaging wind gusts are a concern. Behind the cold front, a shot of chilly air arrives for the weekend. Saturday will be windy with temps running about 10° below average. At night, under a clear sky in tandem with a diminishing wind, temps early Sunday could dip to their coldest levels of the season so far.
