DUPAGE COUNTY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The fiancée of a man killed in a shooting in unincorporated Willowbrook Corners on Juneteenth said she has no one to turn to for answers and appealed to DuPage County Board members for help.
Reginald Meadows was at a Juneteenth celebration in a parking lot at Somerset Plaza when gunshots rang out. The 31-year-old was killed and his fiancée Ashley Miller asked DuPage County Board members on Tuesday why she hasn’t hear anything from police.
“It’s been 90 days. We still don’t have answers. I still don’t know where some of his property is. I just want answers. I’ve never seen a mass shooting of such caliber take so long to get answers,” Miller said.
More than 20 others were also injured in the shooting.
DuPage County Board Chair Deborah Conroy told Miller the board shares her frustration in the fact that there has been no resolution to this, and the board will continue to encourage the Sheriff’s Office to make that happen.
The DuPage County's Sheriff Department said they've reached out multiple times to Meadow's fiancée and the investigation is ongoing. They also noted more hours have been spent investigating this case, than any other case in the recent history of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office.
