This year, Emily Hass received a promotion. The soon-to-be senior at Cambridge-Isanti High School has been named as the Peer Advisor to the 2026–2027 Minnesota State Beef Ambassador Team, which is sponsored by the Minnesota State CattleWomen. After spending the past two years as an Ambassador, Hass admitted she has mixed emotions about this new position. “It’s a very exciting and proud moment, but some of it is kind of sad,” she said. “I don’t get to travel the state anymore and have that ambassador role. The surprise to observers wasn’t so much that the Cougars won, but the way they tore apart the defending state champions’ defense. Griffen Dean rushed for 286 yards and six touchdowns, and Nic Swanson added 180 yards on the ground. South lost to Moorhead 26-14 in the state semifinals the next week, but the Cougars are back with another team expected to contend in Class 6A. Dean, a recent University of Montana commit, offensive
