New England auto mogul funds grants for school music programs
Gov. Phil Scott paid a visit to the West Rutland School Wednesday, and brought with him the gift of music, or at least the funding for it. The Governor was joined by Subaru of New England Ernie Boch Jr., who was a musician before making his fortune in the auto industry. He is an advocate for music education, and is awarding grants to music programs at Vermont schools through his Music Drives Us foundation.
New initiative aims to help LGBTQ business owners network
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A new initiative is aimed at helping LGBTQ business owners and entrepreneurs succeed. The Vermont Pride and Prosperity Network is a collaboration between several organizations including the Pride Center of Vermont, the Small Business Administration, and the Vermont Treasurer’s Office. The goal is to provide education, connection, and celebration. It is being supported by the M&T Charitable Foundation with a funding commitment of $225,000 over three years.
