Williamsport, Pa. — An unhoused man threw beer cans at a police cruiser before being threatened with a taser and charged.

Tyler Charles Picariello of Chandler, N.C.., was spotted as he threw a can into the Penn College flower pots along Maynard Street, Officer Porter Todd Kling said. Kling attempted to speak with Picariello, who allegedly threw two unopened cans at the police cruiser.

Picariello walked away from Kling, keeping his hands concealed in his pockets and ignoring commands, according to the report. Kling asked Picariello to stop and get down on the ground. After being threatened with the use of a taser, Picariello gave into the requests and was arrested, Kling wrote.

Police learned Picariello was "homeless and carrying all his belongings in a backpack," according to the complaint. Picariello is being charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.

Picariello is being held on $2,500 monetary bail, but is eligible to post ten percent of the total. He is scheduled to appear for a hearing next week at the Lycoming County Courthouse.

There's a scene in "El Dorado" where the deputy is explaining how the last time the US marshal came to town, the drunken sheriff threw a whiskey bottle at him. "An empty bottle?" John Wayne's character asked. "Yeah, he wasn't that drunk" replies the deputy. This guy obviously was that drunk.
