The issue was reported earlier today, and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has been notified and is aware of the malfunction.Authorities say FDOT crews are expected to make repairs later this afternoon. Until the signal is fully restored, drivers are reminded to strictly follow traffic laws while traveling through the intersection.Under current conditions:

State Road 20 remains the through-traffic roadway

State Road 65 traffic is required to come to a complete stop

Law enforcement officials stress that failure to follow flashing signal rules can increase the risk of crashes, especially during peak travel hours. Motorists should reduce speed, remain alert for cross traffic, and proceed only when it is safe to do so.The intersection serves as a key connector for drivers traveling through Liberty County and the surrounding Big Bend region, making compliance especially important until repairs are completed.Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and remain patient as crews work to resolve the issue. No injuries or crashes related to the malfunction have been reported as of this update.Have you driven through this intersection today? Did the flashing signal cause delays? Share your experience to help keep other drivers informed.
This article was produced by a journalist and may include AI-assisted input.
