Parent asks district to work on discipline fairness

KINCAID — The South Fork Board of Education held a regular meeting on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the district Media Center. A parent of students in the district came to the meeting to speak to the Board about what she saw as the unfair and uneven discipline being used throughout the district. She mentioned instances where an entire grade level was punished for the actions of rowdy students, groups of kids being held accountable for actions even when they were not present, as well as students being treated differently for the same offense.

Days And Times For Football Playoff Games

The Illinois High School Association has announced the days and times opening round games of the football playoffs will be played in the state this weekend. The Greenville Comets are at home in Class 3A. They will host Petersburg PORTA at 7 p.m. Friday. The game will be broadcast on WGEL with the pre-game show at 6:40.
