WILLARD, Utah (ABC4) — Three people have died following a crash on northbound Interstate 15 near Willard on Monday afternoon.

According to Sgt. Cameron Roden with the Utah Highway Patrol, a collision between a semi-truck and a van occurred on I-15 near milepost 353 around noon on Monday, March 27. Traffic had slowed down as law enforcement investigated the crash.

Another semi-truck reportedly had trouble slowing down and slammed into a small red passenger car. The truck driver and one person from the red car were pronounced dead at the scene.

A second person from the red car was transported to the hospital in “extremely critical condition.” They have been confirmed by officials to have died from their injuries.

Traffic was diverted off the freeway in the area, but drivers can get back onto I-15 at milepost 357.
