At around 12:30 pm, police in Wilkes-Barre, which is about two hours north of Philadelphia, raced to a home after receiving reports that a woman wasn't breathing.

Responding officers arrived to find Tucker with multiple stab wounds to her neck and back and blood gushing out of her head, the Wilkes-Barre Police Department said in an affidavit.

Cops also found the little 11-year-old boy with what appeared to be stab wounds on his back, but they were non-life-threatening.

Tucker was unresponsive, and the coroner declared her dead inside the house.

Lataya was also inside the home, and she allegedly told cops she was responsible for the killing, according to the affidavit.

Detectives didn't find any knives lying around the home when they arrived, but they did notice there were padlocks on the kitchen drawers, the affidavit states.

One drawer had been opened and the padlock was seen lying on the ground.

'REGRET' AND 'GUILT'

The teen was captured on camera being escorted out of the home by local NBC affiliate WBRE.

Dressed in what looks like plaid pajamas with dark red hair covering her face, Lataya told a local reporter she felt "regret, guilt, and self-disgust" while cops put her in the back of a car.

According to the affidavit, Lataya allegedly went on to kick the back of the car and scream about killing her mother.

She told officers, "I killed my mom and she'll never forgive me if she is alive," according to the arresting documents.

Detectives said the teen told them she had thrown the knife on a neighbor's doorstep, and surveillance footage captured her doing so.

Also while speaking with police, Lataya allegedly said, "I don't have my phone because my mom took it before our fight," and "I'm the reason my mom is dead."

"I don't know how people can do stuff like this and not feel bad about it," she allegedly told cops.

NEIGHBOR'S HORROR

Neighbors who were interviewed by police told cops they heard screaming coming from the house before they arrived, according to the affidavit.

One nearby resident told another local outlet that first responders were working the scene for hours.

"I've been here for about 30-something years and this is the first time I can remember something like this happening," the neighbor told ABC affiliate WNEP.

The resident, who didn't wish to be named, said that she'd never had a problem in their neighborhood before and that residents normally keep to themselves.

"I was just shocked," she said.

Lataya has been jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional facility without bail and is being represented by Luzerne County Chief Public Defender Joseph Yeager.

Yeager told police that she would not agree to interview with them.

Latay's brother was taken to a hospital after the attack and is in stable condition.

The teen has been charged with homicide, aggravated assault, and evidence tampering.

She is set to appear in a court hearing on April 10 in Luzerne County Central Court and will be tried as an adult.
