Authorities investigate bomb threat to courthouse; no threat found
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Update 10:10 a.m.: Assistant county manager Tania Cole said Sedgwick County District Court received an anonymous call to their call center line from Thursday morning stating there was a bomb at the Courthouse that was set to go off in the morning.
Courthouse police contacted the sheriff’s department for assistance and both departments searched the main courthouse and the juvenile courthouse for any evidence or suspicious activity related to a bomb. Finding nothing that would indicate a threat, normal activities and operations continued at both courthouses.
Authorities are investigating after someone called in a bomb threat to a courthouse in Wichita.
911 dispatch did not confirm whether it was a state or federal courthouse.
There was no immediate word on evacuations.
