The last of four men involved in a 2019 shooting death in Wichita has been sentenced. District Judge David Dahl sentenced Pierce Jackson, 22 of Wichita, to 216 months in prison.
Last July, Jackson pled guilty to aggravated robbery. On August 19, 2019, Jerome Armbeck was shot and killed in an open field in the 4600 block of E. Boston. His brother had asked him to help catch some people who robbed him of his backpack during a marijuana sale.
Orlando Howard shot Armbeck several times at the conclusion of a foot chase near Harry and Oliver. Judge Dahl previously sentenced Howard to 165 months in prison following his guilty
plea to second degree murder and aggravated robbery. Marcus Lamar pled guilty to aggravated robbery and criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Tairyce Jones pled guilty to aggravated robbery. Lamar and Jones were each sentenced to 60 months in prison.
Howard had no criminal history prior to this incident. Jackson, however, had prior
criminal history for aggravated robbery and robbery.
