Suspect shot 18-year-old Kansas woman in the arm

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that seriously injured an 18-year-old girl from Wichita.

Just after 1a.m.  Sunday, police were dispatched to a shooting call in the 2500 block of South Seneca Street in Wichita, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.

First responders located the 18-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to her right forearm. EMS transported her to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed that she was involved in a verbal argument with an unknown suspect and during the incident the suspect produced a handgun and shot at the victim.

The investigators are still working to fully determine what led up to the shooting. Police released no additional details and have not released any suspect information.
