Wichita police are investigating a shooting at a Southeast Wichita nightclub that seriously injured an 18-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man.
Officers responded to the 1500 block of S. Webb Rd. around 2:20 a.m. early Friday morning. There they found the 18-year-old with a gunshot wound to her head. She was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Officials said she is now in stable condition.
A 33-year-old man arrived at the hospital as a walk-in patient with a gunshot wound to his lower leg. He was treated and released.
Investigators learned that the incident in the nightclub began as an argument and later moved out to the parking lot, before becoming a physical altercation. During the disturbance, someone pulled out a gun and fired several rounds.
Police said that victims and witnesses were being uncooperative, and investigator haven’t been able to determine all of the details leading up to the shooting.
Officers may have a lead on a potential suspect vehicle and tag, and said that more details will follow.
This was the third incident in the last two months at this particular establishment.
