WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Serving a search warrant, SWAT and negotiators responded to a Wichita Falls apartment on Friday afternoon.

At around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department attempted to serve an evidentiary search warrant at a unit at the Colony Park Apartments on Taft Boulevard, according to WFPD Officer Steve Ginger.

Ginger said the warrant was served in response to a case still under investigation, but on the scene, police reportedly had reason to believe there was an armed subject inside the apartment.

Because of this, according to Ginger, SWAT and negotiators were activated.

All subjects inside the residence exited peacefully, Ginger said. The residence was then secured and investigators were then able to execute the initial search warrant.

Ginger confirmed there is no danger to the public, but the case remains under investigation.

No further details have been released at this time.
