Smoothie King opens Wichita Falls store

Smoothie King has opened for business in Wichita Falls.

The chain restaurant conducted a soft opening and VIP event on Tuesday with a grand opening set for Wednesday.

The store is located at 2823 Southwest Parkway in the shopping strip that also has Hobby Lobby.

According to the company's website, the chain offers fresh-blended "smoothies" from a number of ingredients, mostly fruit and vegetable, as well as sports beverages, energy bars, healthy snacks, vitamin supplements, herbs, minerals and other sports nutrition.

Smoothie King was founded in Louisiana in 1973 and is now headquartered in Coppell.

The company has more than 1,300 locations.
