RED SPRINGS — The West Bladen cross country team ran in its third SAC 6 Conference meet of the season on Wednesday evening. Seniors Sarah Dillard and Adairis Jimenez finished around the same time for a neck-and-neck finish. Dillard took 21st place with a time of 34:13.00 and Jimenez took 22nd with a time of 34:13.17 in the girls 5000m.

The Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity Volleyball team is continuing its winning ways. The Lady Vikings are 13-3 overall. On September 11th the Vikings hosted Kerr Vance Academy and took the win in 4 sets (22-25), (25-11), (25-16) and (25-21). ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen’s Eagles were 1-3 after their tough non-conference schedule, and Coach Robby Priest said he heard the negative talk from the sidelines during losses to North Brunswick and James Kenan. “Those teams are Class 3A and 2A playoff teams,” said Priest. “And we needed to play teams like that to get better.”

ELIZABETHTOWN — The East Bladen Eagles gear up to take on the South Columbus Stallions in their Waccamaw Conference opener this Friday at home. The Eagles are coming off two straight losses and will be looking to get back to winning ways against a familiar foe. East Bladen took last season’s game against the Stallions in a 35-14 victory away from home. South Columbus will hope for a different result as they come into Elizabethtown off two straight victories after their week one loss to West Bladen.

FAIRMONT — The West Bladen cross country team competed in its second SAC 6 conference meet of the season on Wednesday. West Bladen junior Demon’tre Love posted his second runner-up finish of the season with a time of 20:21, which is an improvement from last week’s time of 20:37.

ELIZABETHTOWN — The East Bladen Eagles defeated the East Columbus Gators for a 4-1 victory on Monday in a Waccamaw Conference match-up. East Bladen sophomore forward Tevin McClean scored a hat-trick in the first half to give the host an early advantage. He scored two goals within a four minute span after getting the better of the Gators keeper in one-on-one situations.
