Victims identified in Saltair head-on-collision with semi-truck

MAGNA, Utah (ABC4) — The victims of the head-on-collision with a semi-truck near Saltair have been identified by officials as driver Feilokitau Kaho Fiefia, 35, from South Jordan and passenger Victoria Keanea Thompson, 20, from Whiterocks.

UBER has confirmed that Fiefia was an UBER driver, however, they have not yet confirmed if he was working when the incident occurred. Fiefia was recently involved in a vehicle rollover in January.

Three siblings headed to the concert at Saltair witnessed the crash and pulled over to help. One of the siblings, Chase Stowell, said “nothing can ever prepare you” to see something like that. His brother, Jacob Stowell, said “I just hope the family is alright. It was a very unexpected loss for them I’m sure.”

The family of the driver posted on social media describing Fiefia as a “kind” and “loving” man.

MAGNA, Utah (ABC4) — Two individuals have died and another is critically injured from a head-on-collision with a semi-truck on the SR-202 overpass crossing the I-80, according to the Unified Police Department.

A semi-truck traveling southbound and a passenger vehicle traveling northbound collided head-on around 8 p.m. tonight, Mar. 25, fully ejecting one individual and partially ejecting another from the passenger vehicle. Both individuals were pronounced dead by authorities. Another passenger from the car was life-flighted in “extremely critical condition,” according to officials.

The Collision Accident Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the crash and any possible factors. Officials believe the passenger car was traveling to The Great Saltair for an event tonight.
