WHITE PIGEON, Mich. (WOOD) — Two West Michigan school districts canceled classes at some or all buildings Friday after receiving threats.

White Pigeon Community School said in a social media post Thursday that a “potential threat” was made against White Pigeon Jr/Sr High School. It closed both that building and Central Elementary Friday as a result. Al athletic events, including practices, competitions, Little League and roller hockey, were also canceled Friday. The district said all should return to normal Saturday.

Near Kalamazoo, Comstock Public Schools’ Comstock Middle School was also closed Friday “out of an abundance of caution” due to a threat, it said in a social media post . All other school buildings remained open and events were still set to go forward.

Both school districts said they were working with police to investigate the threats.

There is no indication whether the threats may have been linked, or if they were separate.
